GA 6: Legal
-Establishing new laws specifically for women around the globe
A minority group refers to a category of people who experience relative disadvantage as compared to members of a dominant social group. Minorities often face discrimination and exclusion, and they struggle to gain access to their human rights. Women and girls around the world are still married as children or trafficked into forced labor and sex slavery. They are refused access to education, political participation, and some are trapped in conflicts where rape is perpetrated as a weapon of war. 1 in 5 female refugees and internally displaced people have experienced sexual violence. In most societies, women often cannot get access to the justice and support services to which they are entitled.
